Hastings resident Gemma Stevenson will set wheels in motion to take the London to Paris Cycle (from the heart of London to the Eiffel Tower) in memory of husband Corporal Terry ‘Stevo’ Stevenson to raise funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers charity.

Terry served in the Royal Engineers for 12 years. He died following an accident on his way home from Maidstone 36 Engineer Regiment.

Terry was just 35 when tragedy struck and Gemma says cycling has helped and she is taking the cycling challenge to commemorate Terry’s birthday on August 31. “We were married for five years. Terry was a loving Dad to Pierce, now aged 18, and Pippa, 4. Terry was a keen cyclist and I took it up as my therapy to help with my loss.

“The amazing Scotty’s Little Soldiers have been great support for myself and his children through the grief.

“Please help me keep this charity doing amazing work for so many children like Pierce and Pippa as it has helped, and continues to help, us and many families like us who have had such a tragic loss.”

Those who knew and loved Terry remember and share memories on Facebook. One of the many tributes include: ‘A man with the biggest heart and love for his daughter’.
