Billingshurst woman wins top award

A YOUNG apprentice from Billingshurst has been rewarded for her training efforts at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by GMTV presenter Marcella Whittingdale.

Hannah Vaughan has turned her life around by enrolling on a college course, and has now been awarded 'Learner Progression Award' at this year's Spring Awards held last week.

The annual Awards, now in their fourth year, are organised by FE Sussex '“ a partnership of Sussex colleges set up to improve the experience of further education learners '“ on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council Sussex '“ which funds all post-16 education in the county.

The Spring Awards bring together the major players in the training and development world in Sussex to celebrate the best achievements of individuals, colleges, training providers and tutors.

Hannah, aged 25, completed a level 2 business administration apprenticeship at Chichester College, before moving on to a level 3 advanced apprenticeship, after leaving school aged 11 with no formal qualifications or computer skills.
