Bodiam

Cricket: the cricket club hopes to return home to Bodiam so all future fixtures in 2016 are to play away. For fixtures on 10 July phone Karen Towner secretary on (01424) 436523 or (07983) 814191. I was glad to see one of the old boys of Bodiam Paul Barnett won the player of the season, in fact Paul won the best bowler and champagne moment.

Funeral: I went to the Service of Thanksgiving for Gordon our vicar who died on June 12. It was good to see a full church hall. Some people have said to me how did you get on with him and I have said he made me laugh and I could talk to him. He was good with words just a few well chosen words can go a long way. We will sadly missed Gordon. Will we see a vicar like Gordon I fear we will not?

Bodiam Castle: as you will know Gordon Bailey number one at Bodiam Castle left the National Trust. He now has a new job just like Gordon you could talk to him but this was for hours at a time. Massive thanks to George for what you did to the village and all the very best for you and the family.
