A LOCAL Mencap Charity fundraising event is to take place on May 27 from noon at the Levetts Lane Garages with a cake sale, plant sale and table sale. The charity would be very grateful for raffle prizes. Please deliver to 38 Levetts Lane, Bodiam. Please support.

The village cricket club are at home on May 20 to Mountfield, start 2pm. If it is not wet, phone Karen for information on 01424 436523.

Levetts Lane Residents Association is to have a celebration Queens Diamond Jubilee Party in the Lane on June 3, start 2pm. If anyone would like to contribute, call Vera on 01580 830462/830981/830632 or any other committee member.

If you see a lot of cyclists in the village on May 27, it is part of a scenic ride to Bodiam Castle. Start at Battle railway with a picnic at Bodiam Castle. Booking is recommended, phone 01424772542 and the leader is Martin Noakes.

Bodiam Pre-School Jumble Sale takes place on May 25 in the Parish Room from 3pm to 5pm, also with a raffle/refreshments. If you have any jumble or would like to give raffle prizes, bring them on the day to the Parish Room or for more information phone me on 01580 830211.
