Body found in hedgerow

THE body of a man has been found lying in a hedgerow in Broad Oak Park. It was discovered at 11.45am on Friday, May 13 by a dog walker.

Police were called but have since said the death is not being treated as suspicious. The Coroner’s Officer is continuing with enquiries to try to identify the man.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Monday this week in an effort to establish the man’s identity and the cause of death, but due to the advanced state of decomposition this proved inconclusive. Further investigation, including DNA testing, is now under way.
