Its area sales executive, Russell McDermott, handed over the hamper to Woods’ human resources director, Tina Elsmere.

National Mobile Windscreens’ sales and marketing director, Martyn Bennett, said the hamper was an appropriate gift to mark such an important milestone and to thank Woods for its loyalty as one of the company’s longest-serving clients.

The Woods Travel Group – based in Park Road – was launched as a taxi business in 1971.

It now runs 14 coaches with 45 staff and had a turnover of £5.5m last year.

The company took more than 6,500 passengers on 125 excursions in 2010 to destinations around the UK and Europe. They ranged from the Isles of Scilly to Eastbourne to the Austrian Lakes.

One of its two original founders, Roger Elsmere, heads the family business with his daughters, Tina and Kristy.

The group includes Woods Holidays, a fully-bonded travel agent, and the Sussex Cruise Club.

National Mobile Windscreens was launched by current chairman George Douglas as a one-man operation from a Minivan in Bristol.
