Mrs Warr has joined with Rolls-Royce to launch a charity raffle for the final month of her latest time as the town’s senior elected representative. The £1 raffle tickets will benefit Stonepillow and its work with homeless people around Bognor and Chichester.

Mrs Warr said: “My appeal when I started my year as the town mayor was for the Toby Booker appeal.

“With people’s support, I raised £1,800 for that and helped his parents reach their target.”

She wanted to make use of her remaining weeks as the town mayor to benefit more people. Rolls-Royce had offered its help but it was too late for her fundraising for Toby.

She instead decided to use it to help Stonepillow. “I wanted to help a local charity and Stonepillow do such a good job,” she said. “They not only provide beds for homeless people but the help and services they provide to meet their needs is second to none.”

Mrs Warr’s generous actions are rare. Town mayors usually select a good cause each May and it lasts for a year. The raffle’s first prize will be a personal tour of the Rolls-Royce factory in Westhampnett and a return chauffeur driven journey in one of the prestige cars.

The other prizes are two free full MOTs and full services from Halfords Autocentre and a meal for two at the William Hardwicke and a meal for two at Oxfords.

Tickets from the Bognor Regis Observer and Unique Promotions. The draw will be at the May 9 council meeting.
