Bognor school's turbine plans put on hold

A planned wind turbine at Laburnum Grove Junior School in Bognor Regis has been put on hold.

Headteacher Pip Otton wanted to install the 15m high 6kw turbine on the school's grounds on Laburnum Grove.

But she has withdrawn the application before it could be considered by county councillors.

A letter from the school's planning agent, Fergus Brown of IMS Ltd, states the matter was subject to an internal review and consideration.

"At this time, we anticipate re-submitting within the next 12 months," he said.

The turbine had been opposed by residents who live around the school's perimeter.
