Bognor students getting creative on the catwalk

STUDENTS from Bognor Regis Community College became catwalk queens wearing their own creations.

They took part in the college's annual fashion show by showing the 200-strong audience their creative talents.

Among the highlights was the appearance of a group of 12- and 13-year-olds who restyled a T-shirt while those slightly older modelled their own hats.

A-level students showed off their designs of spectacular corsets and evening wear.

Among them was the daughter of the show's organiser, college head of textile and technology Freda Heywood. Sixth former Rhiannon Heywood wore a wedding dress which she had created.

A total of 87 students took part in the show in the college's lower school hall in Pevensey Road.

Dancers from local dance school, Dance with Attitude, modelled tops from Dorothy Perkins.

Younger students wore clothes from Mackays, while boys were catered for by Officers Club and Dickies of Worthing. Beautiful prom and wedding dresses were supplied by Brides of Sussex, Confetti and Lace and Mousetrap.

There was also a display of work by A-level product design students. They had radios, chess sets and furnishings on show.

For the first time, younger pupils from Michael Ayres Junior School modelled outfits which they had designed on the theme of recycling.
