Bognor's museum hopes alive

Hopes for a new Bognor Regis museum are still being kept alive, the town's deputy mayor has said.

Sandra Daniells told the civic society's latest meeting the intention was to replace the current cramped museum in the High Street.

She said: "I believe all of us want to pursue that. It is something everyone would like to see."

As reported, town councillors abandoned their idea to create a local history centre in an unused part of the town's railway station because of the cost.

No progress has been achieved since that decision was made but Mrs Daniells said a new museum was still a possibility on a more modest scale.

The museum is run by local history society volunteers and opens for about seven months a year in a former shop.
