Boxing club event is big hit

YOUNGSTERS from Rye Town Amateur Boxing Club showcased their skills at a special event at Tilling Green Community Centre Field on Saturday.

The non profit community sports club has gone from strength to strength since being formed by local man Carl Turner last year,

Saturday’s community event was intended to raise funds and start the new season with a bang says Carl.

It included a barbecue, live music and children’s attractions such as bouncy castles.

Former WBU Light Middle weight Champion of the World Wayne Alexander came along to referee the show contests and the successful event was attended by members of other amateur boxing clubs in the south of England.
