BREAKING NEWS: two rescued from East Preston blaze

TWO women have been rescued by firefighters after a bedroom blaze at their home in East Preston this morning (Friday, January 29).

One of the women, described by the fire service as wheelchair-bound, suffered slight burns in the fire, at a bungalow in Normandy Drive. The other suffered smoke inhalation and both were taken to Worthing Hospital.

Two fire crews from Littlehampton and one from East Preston were called out just after 8am. After rescuing the two women from the ground floor bedroom and putting out the flames, they used high-powered fans to clear the smoke and ventilate the bungalow.
