Coffee Mornings: I am delighted to inform you all that the McMillan coffee mornings and evening went well. The Farmers Market raised about £50 the Rectory evening about £150 and Joan Hester’s coffee morning £400 which was absolutely marvellous only 16 people attended but thanks to some previous donations by friends and family the magnificent sum was raised. I have been asked to thank all those who arranged the fundraising and also those who supported them and contributed so much to such a worthy cause.

Friday 9 October: Yoga is being held in Udimore Community Hall at 9.30am. Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. A list of stockists for the Market are in the Parish Magazine which is now out for October Mrs Alison Taylor is the new Editor and she can be contacted at parishmagazineinbox@’gmail.com do contact her if you have anything interesting to place in the magazine.

The Reverend Dawn Novis will lead the service in the Methodist Church in Broad Oak at 10.30am Visitors are welcome at all the Churches.

Brede and Udimore Overseas Group are inviting you to an afternoon Tea Party from 3pm – 5pm in Udimore Community Hall. Entrance is free but donations are welcome to support their four charities. They do hope as many as possible will go along to enjoy the afternoon of fun quizzes. Monday 12 October: -4pm Age Uk East Sussex Brede Community Club needs volunteers and drivers!!! The Club opens today from 10.30am – 3.30pm. The usual Jigsaws News and exercises with Zena are on offer this morning but after lunch the ever popular Dave the music man is going to entertain the group and anyone else who wishes to go along. Tuesday 13 October: Pilates at 9.15am in Udimore Community Hall. Followed by another session at 10.15am. Brede Painting for Pleasure meet at 9.30 in Brede Village Hall.

Brede Scouts meet, from 7pm – 9pm in the Scout Hut and any young person 10½ or over is welcome. The contact is Andy Bishop 07811339626

Bingo is in the Rainbow Trout at 8.30pm

Wednesday 14 October: Pilates are in Udimore Community Hall at 9.15 and 10.25am, The Brede WI,s demonstrator is Joy Funnell and she will be giving a Silver Jewellery Demonstration at 2pm in Brede Village Hall.

Vocality singers are in Udimore Community Hall at 2pm and would welcome some more members so pop along if you are interested.

Thursday 15 October: Stretch and Tone with Sally. in Brede Village Hall and later at 2pm in the same venue the The Rye and District National Trust will hold their talk.

Saturday 24 October: All Saints Church Beckley are holding a celebratory Concert at 7.30pm in the Church. The music will be sacred and secular to celebrate the renovation of the organ. It wll be performed by the Wealden Consort, the Conductor and Organist Cornelis Tarkema has also performed in Canterbury Cathedral and the royal Albert Hall. Tickets are £8.00 available on the door and includes a glass of wine or soft drink. Your support would be appreciated as this is a fundraising event for the Church.

Wednesday 28 October: Age UK East Sussex are holding a Charity Tea Dance and Cream Tea for £6.00 each. It is from 2pm - 4pm in Pett Village Hall and it is aid of the local Centres mini bus appeal. Steve Sinatra will be singing Rat Pack hits to accompany the dancing. There will be a raffle and one of the prizes is 2 tickets to see Cinderella. Thursday 19 November: the VI O’clock Club presents ‘A Cameo Opera ‘ in Brede Village Hall 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 each for this indoor Glyndbourne where you picnic in the auditorium. Take your own food and there is a competition for the best dressed table. Tables of any size available and there will be raffles and prizes. Tickets are available from Penny Dawson 01424 882263, it’s popular so book quickly. Please note: The month is correct this week.
