The Winchelsea Singers were very well supported on Saturday 12th April, Hermione Roff was in the Audience she said a few words about her Anthem that she wrote to commemorate the 1st World War but she also said that it was for those in the 2nd World War and those still in conflict today. The Choir, pianist, oboist and cellist were thrilled to perform the premiere of her works in her presence and Hermione told them how delighted she was to hear it properly for the first time. Duncan Reid the choirmaster was very pleased with the performance.

Friday 25 April Pilates begin at 9am in Udimore Parish Hall. The Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall from 10am –12 noon. It has fresh vegetables and fruit stalls as well as Peter Spencer’s Apple Juice and apples from his Orchard in Brede. Other produce and crafts and plants are also available.

In Udimore Hall the Wea Gardening course continues at 10.30am. Short Mat Bowlers will be in the Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm ready to compete against each other. Local band Cold Shot is performing in the Rainbow Trout from 8.30pm.

Saturday 26 April.

At 9.30am the Blackbrook Garden Centre’s talk today is about Tomatoes, Peppers, Chillies, cucumbers and melons. The cost is £2.50 and includes a cup of coffee.

Sunday 27 April at 9.30am the Family Eucharist begins at St Georges Brede. The Methodist Church holds it’s service at 10.30am and Mr David Hampson is the Preacher again this week. Brede cricketers are back in action today after along wet winter. The season should have started about two weeks ago but due to a waterlogged recreation ground it had to wait until their away game to Mountfield today beginning at 2pm. Good luck to you all.

Monday 28 April Age Uk East Sussex – Brede Community Club begins at 10.30am with coffee, the morning news and floor basketball. There is also a raffle and Maureen asks if you are able please bring prizes. Steve and his guitar will be entertaining after lunch. All day sessions, mornings only or afternoons only are available. This evening the uniformed groups are back and begin with Rainbows In the small Hall at 4.00pm followed at 5.30pm by the Brownies.

In the Scout Hut Beavers begin at 5.30pm to 6.30pm this is for 6 – 8 year olds and from 6.30 – 8.00pm Cubs which is for 8 - 10½ year olds.

Guides meet at Udimore Hall at 7.15pm. In Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm the Whist players meet for their game.

Tuesday 29 April the Brede Painting for Pleasure have their brushes poised over the canvass at 9.30am waiting to make a beautiful painting which might hang in Brede Village Hall later. Pilates begins at 9am in Udimore Hall. The Mobile Library, visits Oakhill Drive at 3pm and Reedswood Road at 3.50pm. The Parish Council have a meeting at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. (small hall) The Annual Meeting of the friends of St Mary’s Udimore is at 6.45 followed by the annual Parochial Church Council at 7.30pm

The Rainbow Trout holds it’s Local Night in the bar, this evening it is a Pub Quiz at 8pm.

Wednesday 30 April Brede Crafters meet in Brede Village Hall at 2pm. Yoga is at 7pm in Udimore Hall.

Thursday 1 May Stretch and Tone at 9.30am with Sally in Brede Village Hall. At the side of the Hall the Doctors Surgery is at midday. Back in the main Hall the local National Trust has one of it’s talks at 1.30pm. The Mobile Library visits Brede in the Village Hall car park at 1.25pm.

Friday 2 May Pilates is at 9am in Udimore Hall. The weekly Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall is open from 10am –12pm. Also in the Hall Short Mat Bowls is at 7.30pm.

Saturday 3 May Grand Sale and Coffee Morning 10am- 1pm at the Trinity Methodist Church, Udimore Road, Broad Oak.

BOB’s are running a competition to name the boat on the recreation ground. If you wish to have your picture in the paper write your suggested name and your name, address and phone number on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope with a 50p donation and send it to Ashville Udimore Road. If you wish to deliver it by hand the house is between the Bakery and School or you can send it to Elm Tree Cottage Rhia’s Glade which is behind the Bakery which by the way has lovely cakes and bread but also does different meats.

Tickets are £ 10.00 and will include canapés and wine or soft drink, proceeds will be split between Dragonflies, Winston’d Wish and Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team.

An evening of Music with the WI Choir Peasmarsh Memorial Hall 7.30pm entry is £7.00 and will include refreshments. Proceeds go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity No. 1095197

Saturday 10 May the Charity Chernobyl Children Rye presents Bromley Youth Orchestra with Bromley Youth String Ensemble in a Spring Concert with works by Bach, Greig, Borodin and Nielsen.
