Brothers in Ryedisturbance

TWO brothers were sentenced at Hastings Magistrates Court on October 30 after pleading guilty to using threatening behaviour following an incident at Rye Sports Centre on the February 19.

Ivor Brinkley Jnr from Eastbourne was fined £150 and ordered to pay additional compensation and costs totalling £195. Damien Brinkley of New Winchelsea Road, Rye, was fined £100 and also ordered to pay additional compensation and costs totalling £130. A third male youth who cannot be named was given a conditional discharged at an earlier hearing.

In a sperate court appearance at Hastings on November 1, Ivor Brinkley Jnr pleaded guilty to causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm and distress following an incident at Station Approach, Rye, on September 23.

He was fined £100 with additional costs of £65.
