Panto: The first three performances of the latest production by the Burwash amateur Pantomime society has taken place. And as always have given the audiences lots of fun with plenty of cheering, booing and clapping. Colourful and delightfully quirky as the Baps put their own unique interpretation on the story, which this year is Treasure Island. There are three more performances this weekend with an evening show tonight at 8pm then tomorrow at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Karaoke Night: You are all invited to give voice tomorrow evening by joining in the fun event at the Bear Motel. Organised by some of the volunteers for the Get Together lunches for the elderly this fun event is for all to take part in. The fun begins at 8pm and you can take to the stage or just cheer and support. There will be a raffle and prizes for the best and worst singers. Sounds like a lot of laughs are going to be the order of the day. Do go along and take part.

Flower Club: The Burwash and District flower arrangement club will be holding their AGM on Monday at the Burwash village hall from 2.15pm. The club will be celebrating their emerald anniversary this year so look out for some great demonstrations etc. All members and potential members are welcome to go along on Monday. The club is fun with many great demonstrators each meeting with the displays being raffled at the end of the meeting. I have often seen some very pretty and amazing arrangements leave the hall.

British Legion: The Burwash branch of the Royal British Legion will have a meeting on Monday evening at the Rose & Crown from 8pm. You do not have to be a member to attend and not all those that do we in the armed forces, but have an interest in the work that the British Legion do for ex service men and women in our area. If you are interested in join the Burwash branch please call Fred Marshall on 01435 884298.

NSY: The members of the Not So Young club will be meeting on Thursday at the Burwash village hall from 2.15pm. This lively club for the over 60’s have a great year of events coming up, from lecture meetings to games afternoons, to summer garden parties, fun come to tea afternoon and Christmas lunch meeting. If you live in one of our three villages you would be made very welcome. They meetings last for about 2hours and always end with a delicious tea. If you are interested but want to know more call Isabel Salmond on 01435 882452. She may be able help you if you need transport.

Volunteers: The Burwash parish Council plan to have another love Burwash day and are looking for volunteers. The idea is to make sure that road signs are clean and easily visible, grass and hedges are cut away from them, litter is collected and many other ways to maintain the image of our lovely village. They plan to do this on Saturday 19th March. If you or your club /group would like to help please register with the Parish council clerk via email [email protected] or call 07854 699518 with your name and contact details and which area of our three villages you would like to help spring clean.

Quiz: The next copy of the postal quizzes is ready for you to have ago at. This time the clues are all cryptic and answers are all book title. Copies are £2 each and all the profits will once again go to the Get Together lunch for the senior members of our community. The volunteers who fund raise and work hard on the day of this amazing event are so appreciative of you all buying the quiz and hope you have as much fun as they do with their dinner guests in December. For your copy, please send £2 and a stamped addressed envelope to, Mary Taylor, 2 Holton Cottages, Spring lane, Burwash. TN19 7HU. You will have until April 15th to complete the quiz.
