Burwash

Mary Taylor, Holton Cottages

Last Sunday the Burwash short mat bowls club held their annual Memorial cup tournament at the Burwash village hall. Alas only twelve members were able to play but they all made it a good day as we remembered members no longer with us. After some tense round robin games Mick Moore emerged as the winner by just one point on 27. He pipped Joan Howard into second place on 26, Mary Taylor was third with 23. Thank you to everyone who made it a lovely day, especially to Barry Taylor who undertook all the scoring as well as playing and Joan who organised the delicious lunch. The team will now begin to think about the new league season. If anyone is interested in playing this skilful game with a sociable group Burwash would be pleased to welcome you. We meet on Monday evenings from 6.30pm, tuition is available and equipment can be borrowed form the club. for details call Mary Taylor 01435 882107 or Joan Howard 882434.
