Tonight is quiz night at the Pavilion in Burwash Common at 7.30pm. These monthly quizzes are a lot of fun and you are invited to enter a team of up to six players. The general knowledge questions will give you food for thought as you try to find the right answers. To find out more please call karol Richardson on 01435 883318.

The Warbleton brass Band will be giving a concert for Remembrance tomorrow afternoon in the Burwash Village hall at 3pm. They will be playing in support of The Royal british Legion and Help for Heroes. Tickets are £5 each available at the door. A raffle and refreshments will be available.

The Remembrance services will be held in St Bartholomew’s church on sunday. The parade will gather at the Bear car park and march to the War Memorial at 10.45am, where prayers will be said and wreaths laid. The parade will then enter the church for the service. afterwards the parade will fall in and march back to the car park. You are all invited to go along and gives thanks to those who gave so much for us. There will also be a service of remembrance at St Philip’s church in burwash common at 10.50am.

the Burwash Ladies Group will meet on wednesday at the burwash Village hall at 2.15pm They will be entertained by guest speaker Kathy Fordham with Life on the Farm. New members and visitors are always welcome. The afternoon will end with tea and a raffle. The groups outing this month is a visit to Pirates of Penzance at Tunbridge Wells.

Next Friday 16th November there is to be a fun bridge afternoon at the pavilion in Burwash Common, the fun begins at 12.30pm. Players of all abilities are invited to go along especially if you have a sense of humour. Partners are not essential as you will change partners several times during the afternoon. Entrance fees are £10 each and includ Tapas lunch tea/coffee. Cold drinks will be available at the bar. Play will start at 2 ‘O clock. Bookings are now being taken for the Christmas day lunch for those who will be on their own this year. The festive lunch is held in the Burwash village Hall from 12.30pm for 1pm. If your family are unable to be with you or you have no-one, then regardless of age you are welcome to join us, at a small charge of £10 per person. . You will receive a warm welcome and a delicious three course lunch with coffee & mints to end it. If you would like to be included then please ring Mary Taylor on 01435 882107.

Copies of the postal quiz are selling well, but there are still a few left. These quizzes are used to raise funds for different charities. This year it is for the Christmas lunch for those alone. For £2 you get one hundred questions andover a month to complete it. Fifteen percent of out takings will be the first prize. All the answers are famous or fictional Johns’ or Richards.
