n BURWASH Village Hall are holding their table top sale tomorrow from 9.30am until noon. Crafts and other items will be for sale. Refreshments will be available including bacon butties and fresh cakes. Entrance it free to browsers, tables are £5 if pre-booked or £6 on the day. There will be a raffle and tombola to have a go at to. Call Shirley Viney on 01435 882497 to book a table.

n The new production by the Burwash Pantomime society is Idiana Jones and the Temple of Doooooom, written by Baps members The Sad Seven. There are two shows tomorrow at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are still available for both shows from the box office in the newsagents. We wish all the cast and crew two great shows. I can’t wait.

n There is to be a meeting this evening in the Burwash Common Pavilion, to discuss plans for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Ideas have already been discussed but they would be pleased to hear your suggestions and receive offers of help. The meeting is at 8pm.

n The next parish footpath walk will be on Monday morning, at 9am, starting from The Bear car park. Roger Cloke will lead you over the network of public footpaths around our three villages. You are all very welcome to join him, helping to keep these footpaths open for all to enjoy. The walks usually end in time for lunch.

n The Burwash branch of the Royal British Legion have a meeting on Monday evening from 8pm. It is being held at the Rose and Crown and all members are invited to go along.

n On Tuesday afternoon/evening, St Philips Sunday School will be holding a fun Pancake Party at the pavilion in Burwash Common. Children aged 0 to 10 will have theirs from 4pm to 6pm. 11 and over from 6pm to 7pm. Fun, food and races is the order of the day. Take a plate of food and have fun. n The members of the Burwash Ladies Group are holding a coffee morning on Wednesday at 4 Wealden View, Shrub Lane, thanks to Susellen Clarke. You are all welcome to go along from 10.30am.

n The Burwash Brownies and Guides will be celebrating Thinking Day this week. At their meeting nearest to the date, February 22, this date was chosen as it was the birthday of both himself and his wife Olave. At their Thinking Day event Burwash will remember Guides and Brownies from around the world among it’s activities. In March they will have one of their popular jumble sales, so now is the time to start having a clear out.

n The pavilion at Burwash Common is hosting two Tai Chi evenings. The first one is on Wednesday at 7pm, with a further one next Wednesday 29. To find out more and book a place, call Julie on 01580 752634.

n The Burwash Village Hall will have their AGM soon and are looking for either a chairperson or treasurer. Our present chairlady is holding down both jobs, admirably, but we need to divide the two jobs. We have a great, hard working committee who would be delighted to welcome you onboard.
