Business students put their studies into practice at Butlin's

The 31 Year 10 pupils of The Regis School swapped their classroom learning for their GCSEs on the subject of a day in the life of the customer service team at Butlin’s.

The 14 and 15-year-olds were treated like new recruits within the company. Their experience allowed them to apply the theory of their learning to real life.

Butlin’s hospitality extended to providing lunch and a tour of the holiday resort’s kitchens. This enabled the students to envisage the large scale of the operation and the organisation needed to ensure visitors’ stays run smoothly.

One of the pupils involved, Connor Mavers, said: “The day was really good. I enjoyed the treasure hunt and the lunch.”

Having developed the link, thanks to resort director Jeremy Pardey, the school hopes the visit to Butlin’s becomes an annual event for its business studies students.
