Businesses out to impress at Butlin's '˜date' night

About 115 firms took part in the latest Arun developers’ and partners’ charter session.

They were bidding for a share of the millions of pounds of contracts to supply goods and services available.

Express Printing sales director Darren Hunter said: “Our business with Butlin’s is going from strength to strength but we still want to see if we can do any more.” Stephanie Wilkins and her mother, Julia Wilkins, wanted to introduce their Westergate-based business, Time For You domestic cleaners.

Stephanie said: “It’s hard nowadays to find cleaners you can trust and we are a company that’s not too big and is also local.”

Last week’s getting-to-know you session was the second to be held in Butlin’s by the Arun Business Partnership.

Firms could talk to six senior managers at Butlin’s.

Resort director Jeremy Pardey said: “We would rather deal with businesses in the local community than outside it.

“It’s good for the environment and it also helps employment locally.”

Partnership business development manager Miriam Nicholls said the event gave companies the chance to meet those who made the buying decisions.
