FOR England and St George! A smoke-breathing dragon was part of the patriotic festivities at the Waterside Inn, Shoreham Beach, on Saturday.

Staff at the pub all dressed up in patriotic dress and the watering hole was decked out with St George flags for the day.

The dragon was made specially for the pub by local artist Jacqui Attree.

Landlord Dean Lawton said there were about 200 people in the even-ing to hear the Beach Bateria samba band.

Mr Lawton said they also had a Dalek outside the pub, stilt-walkers and skittles for the children.

He added that the poor weather had not affected proceedings too much as they had also decked out the inside of the pub.
