Campaigners plan sky-dive

DARING environmental campaigners will take a death-defying skydive to raise cash for a Newhaven anti-incinerator campaign.

Nine daredevils are to take part in a sponsored parachute jump for DOVE (Defenders of the Ouse Valley and Estuary) next month.

Those taking the plunge include Seaford Town Council member Duncan White, City College of Brighton and Hove lecturer John Meikle, from Seaford, Andrew and Michelle Smith from South Heighton and mum-of-two and Denton Kindergarden worker Beckie Dinnage. Joining them will be mum-of-three Tina Meekings and mother of two and shift manager at McDonalds in Newhaven, Dina Griffiths, both from South Heighton.

The line-up is completed by Hove PC and Ouse Valley resident Tony Sivier and the latest recruitment to the team, Laurence Hill from Lewes, who is better known for his involvement organising the Lewes Guitar Festival.
