Can you deliver an answer to postal poser?

GAZETTE readers are being asked to help solve a mystery puzzling Royal Mail staff at the Littlehampton area delivery office in Rustington.

Several photographs turned up inside a Christmas card, which had become separated from its envelope, probably while going through machinery.

A greeting inside the card is to Lynne, from Jan and Dave, and refers someone having a clear-out and passing on the photos, but otherwise there is no clue to the identity of the senders or Lynne herself.

The photos are of a girl in her schooldays, and also appear to show her at her wedding.

A member of the Gazette’s staff recognised the girl as a Lynne White, from her East Preston Junior School uniform, but does not know where she lives now.

“We have been unable to match up the card and photos with any envelope, and as these are precious photographs, we really would like to see that the right person receives them,” said Philip Fox, delivery manager for Littlehampton.

He added: “If people are sending gifts and presents, it’s always a good idea to include a piece of paper inside them with an address, even if it’s just a house number and postcode.”

Anyone who thinks they know of the whereabouts of either Lynne or Jan and Dave should call Philip on 07587 886399.
