Candidates announced for upcoming Rye council election

The candidates for the upcoming Rye Town Council by-election have been announced.

Sam Barnes, of Cinque Ports Street, (Independent), Marie Anne Breeds, of The Strand, (Ind), Matt Follett, of Fair Meadow, (Independent For Rye) and Gerard Reilly, of Udimore Road, (Labour), will stand for election on July 28.

The last date to register to vote for this election is tomorrow (Tuesday, July 12).

The council called an election on June 23, to fill the vacancy left by John Izod’s death in May.
