Candlelit vigil lights up Shoreham in tribute to airshow crash victims


The vigil, held on the Adur Ferry Bridge yesterday evening (Saturday August 29) rounded off an emotional day as communities across Sussex came together to remember those who died.
Thousands of mourners placed candles in jars and glasses alongside floral tributes on the footbridge in Shoreham High Street from 7.30pm, creating a beautiful scene as the sun set.

Hide AdThe ‘Bridge of Light’ was arranged by the organisers of the town’s River Fest event.


Yesterday, West Sussex Senior Coroner Penelope Schofield revealed the 11 people who died have been identified. Their names will be released when the inquests into the deaths open on Wednesday (September 2).
Earlier in the day, thousands of people took to Shoreham Tollbridge for an emotional minute’s silence in memory of the victims.
