CAR PARK ASSAULT

Police are appealing for information following an assault in the car park at the rear of the Somerfield store, Uckfield.

Officers revealed today (July 17) that at about 11 30pm on June 30 a 16-year-old boy was punched and kicked by another youth.

The boy suffered facial bruising and swelling. It is possible that more than one assailant was involved.

A police spokesman said: "It is reported that there was a number of other people in the area at the time of the attack, and police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident.

"If anyone has any information about the incident they are asked to contact PC Darren Hansford at Uckfield Police station on 0845 6070999, quoting serial 2186 of June 30th, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
