Caravan park decision delayed

A LANCING caravan park facing closure was given a six-month reprieve by Adur councillors on Tuesday night.

Around 100 caravan owners, beach hut owners and residents packed the committee room at the Civic Centre in Shoreham to protest at plans to close Golden Sands Caravan Park in Brighton Road.

Adur council announced last week it was considering closing one side of the site used by holiday caravans to build around 100 affordable houses on it. The remaining side is already used by the council to house homeless people in mobile homes.
