CHAILEY BONFIRE SOCIETY: The organising committee continues to diminish and following this year’s Bonfire celebrations and the Christmas Party most of the Committee are standing down which will make it impossible to continue. The Chair (Chris Farrow) said in Chailey News ‘I’ve never been one to give in but if Bonfire in Chailey is to continue we need a completely fresh start and I’m prepared to approach this with a blank canvas just as long as we maintain the basic principles set by our Founders in 1966 with a safe evening and display focused for Children’. All roles need replacing; secretary, treasurer, fundraisers and of course those that plan, build and deliver the display. The decision to continue, or not, is in your hands and if you are prepared to do something to help this Society to continue please give Chris a call on 07867 822492 or email him at [email protected]. The hard fact is that without new help there will be no bonfire celebrations in Chailey in 2017. You can also find out more at the Society’s AGM at the Chailey Reading Room on Wednesday August 31 at 8pm.
