Chance of a life-time Australia offer by Rotary

THE chance of a lifetime; an expenses-paid trip to Australia - that's the offer from Rotary.

Bexhill Rotary Club says: "If you fit the profile you can get your application in now!"

Ray Dixon from Bexhill Rotary Club has been appointed team leader of the district Group Study Exchange which will take the 2008 team to Adelaide and South Australia next Spring.

This is a cultural and vocational exchange and will take place from April 20 to May 17, 2008.

The Australian exchange team are currently in the UK visiting local companies and seeing the sights.

The incoming team comprises a teacher, an IT project manager, a ranger ecologist and a social worker.

To qualify for the exchange applicants have to be in employment and live or work in East Sussex or Kent, and aged between 25 and 40.

Rotarians and their families are excluded.

Of course there is no such thing as a free lunch and applicants will be required to undergo training, fully participate with the team while in Australia and take part in the gruelling schedule of meetings and presentations.

Ray Dixon said: "This is no holiday but without a doubt a chance of a lifetime, staying with Rotarians and their families, the team members will fully experience the culture of the country and the warmth of welcome and the work that Rotarians do across the globe."

The exchange takes place annually and in the past participants have visited all parts of the world including India, America, Poland and Argentina.

A previous team member said: "This exchange gives me and my life a new direction. Now I know what I want to do with my life.
