Changes at Cooden Beach Hotel

After 40 years' loyal service to the hotel, Maria and Manuel Yanez have taken well-earned retirement and have returned to their native Spain.

Maria was restaurant supervisor and Manuel was restaurant manager.

James Kimber, who bought the Cooden Beach Hotel three and a half years ago, said: "I think they each gave loyal service to the hotel for more than 40 years.

"They will be greatly missed by myself and by all the staff."

Maria's brother, Felix Urdiales, remains at the hotel, having given 37 years of service.

In an establishment where long service is the norm, Chef Paul Fermore has given well over 40 years.

Under the re-structure, Jenny Undasan, who was conference and events sales manager, becomes general manager and Felix succeeds her in the conference and events role.

The new staff structure is:

Jenny Undasan - General Manager (still responsible for weddings and major events)

Clive Long - Financial Controller.

Paul Fermore - Head Chef

Felix Urdiales - Conference and Events Manager

Jose Ataide - Restaurant Manager

Natalie Munn - Reception Manager

Avril Withers - Advertising and Marketing Manager

Chris Smith - Cub Bar Manager

Jamie Crouch - Cooden Tavern Manager

Lizzie Richards - Conference and Events Sales Manager Carol Morphew - Head Housekeeper
