Organiser Laura Sykes said: “We had over £900 raised on the auction with 40 lots of everyday items. We had a Delux Scrabble board, two signed books by Peter James. Nothing sold for over £50.”

Even Laura’s five-year-old daughter Anna-thea got in the mood bidding on a pink rabbit, which she duly won. She’s pictured far right with auction volunteer Sarah Shelton, mum Laura, sister Jemima, three, Jeremy Quin and dad Andy.
