Charity football match raises more than £1,000 for Sussex Cancer Fund

A charity football event has been held in aid of the Sussex Cancer Fund.

SCF XI versus The Portsmouth Legends took place at Worthing Football Club, Woodside Road, on Saturday, June 3.

The Sussex Cancer Fund squad SCF XI beat the Portsmouth charity team 4-1.

More than £1,000 was raised during the event as there was a large crowd of onlookers.

It is hoped that the final total will be higher than this, as it is anticiapted that even more money will come in through donations and auctions.

The squad was comprised of Owen Hill, a former Brighton Player, Kideko, a chart topping DJ, George Kwali, another chart topping DJ, YouTuber Mikey Pearce, Guy Lloyd from Juice FM and Britain’s Got Talent contestant, YouTuber Sam Packham, Hobbie Stuart, singer and YouTube star, Casey Barker, a YouTuber, Anthony Barness, a former Chelsea player, YouTuber Abe Garman, Chris Leaney, the event organiser, Keeley Howell, a local boxer, Chris Bennett, YouTuber and film maker, Harley Sylvester, an actor and RizzleKicks singer, and Ian Costello, a local football legend.

Harley Sylvester scored twice, and YouTube stars Hobbie Stuart and Chris Bennett scored the other goals.

There was also a raffle with prizes, as well as a bouncy castle and face painting for the children.
