environmental change called the Linklater Pavilion on the Railway Land.

Dr Parry said: 'I'll be leading the sponsored walk from Balcombe Viaduct in Sussex to Mesnieres chateau in Normandy to raise funds for the Linklater Pavilion.

'What makes the walk special is that the key walkers are a group of 50 English and French adults with learning disabilities and their helpers.

'They will attempt various sections while an able bodied core group will complete the 45 mile route.'

To date, the Railway Land Wildlife Trust has raised 507,000 but needs another 243,000 to make the pavilion a reality.

Artist Tom Walker has also offered to auction two of his paintings during his forthcoming Snooker in the Frame 2 exhibition at The Hop Gallery at the Star Brewery, Lewes, from June 5 to June 17.
