Chichester poetry slam line-up confirmed for final

Competition final

The line-up for the final of Chichester’s Tongue Tied poetry slam has been confirmed.

The winner will be crowned on Saturday, June 6 at the Chichester Inn.

Organiser Charlie Rosse said: “We have seven finalists competing for a £100 prize and a trophy: Gray Taylor, Victoria Wellgreen, Sarah Charsley, Daniel Searle, Jill Palmer, Sienna Black and Shan Duff.

“These poets are from all over Sussex and Hampshire, and are very high quality, so competition is going to be stiff. I have no way of guessing who might possibly win, they are all absolutely brilliant. The poets will each perform one poem and then the top three scorers will perform again in a second round before the winner is declared. We are really excited, it's going to be an electric night.”

Charlie Rosse and Ryan Burle will be hosting: “And we have last year's winner, Tongue Tied's reigning champ, Ayana Playle coming back as a headliner to perform a full set.

“Gray Taylor and Sarah Charsley are Brighton based, Victoria Wellgreen is Horsham, Daniel Searle is Portsmouth, Jill Palmer is from Bognor, Sienna Black is from Crawley and Shan Duff is local in Chichester.”

It starts at 7.30 with doors open from 7pm. Tickets on
