Chris Evans stops off in Sussex for Veteran Car Run


Television and radio presenter Chris Evans along with the One Show’s Alex Jones, BBC Radio Two’s Ken Bruce and Strictly Come Dancing’s Natalie Lowe arrived in Crawley at around 9.30am in their classic Bedford buses and were met with a sea of smiling faces.
Dozens of excited residents gathered to welcome the presenters as they pulled up for a quick cuppa at a make-shift Harrods coffee stop in London Road before heading off on the next stage of their journey.

Hide AdMr Evans along with his fellow presenters are driving the veteran buses to raise money for this year’s Children in Need campaign.


The Radio Two breakfast host auction off places on the bus to five listeners who donated just under £350,000 to ride in the classic vehicle.
The route makes its way down the A23, going through Crawley High Street and joining the B2114 to pass through Handcross Hill and Hammer Hill. Driver then head onto the B2115 for Whitemans Green, the B2036 for Cuckfield, the A273 for Burgess Hill and Clayton Hill and then rejoin the A23 at Pyecome for the run into Brighton.
