Christmas fun for Scouts in Adur

SCOUTS from the Adur Valley District have braved appalling weather for a fun-filled Christmas camp.

The Scouts turned out in force at the Hillside Scout Camp, in Small Dole, and were joined for part of the day by East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton.

Mr Loughton said: "Despite the torrential rain, the Scouts were in good spirits and determined not to let a minor hurricane ruin their Christmas camp celebrations.

"We are lucky to have such dedicated Scout leaders in Adur who are keen and willing to lead young people in fun and constructive activities come rain or shine, in this case literally.

"With so much negative reporting about young people it is always uplifting to see the constructive and positive way that young people in the Scout movement engage with their peers and with the community.

"In their 101st year, they are no less a force for good in our society than when they were set up."
