Christmastree event to be held at Brede

BEAUTIFULLY decorated Christmas trees will be sprouting up at St George’s Church, Brede, when it holds a Christmas Tree Festival from Friday December 6 - Sunday 9.

The event starts with a with a concert on the Friday featuring five local groups including a group from Bexhill High, Opera South East and the Vocality, and ends with a Christingle Service on the Sunday afternoon.

There will be some twenty-five trees decorated by local groups and stalls, refreshments, a Grand Draw for a one hour trip in a helicopter and raffle prizes of tickets to Dick Whittington at the White Rock, the Kino in Hawkhurst and vouchers for the Red Lion in Brede.

There will also be a Charity Tree in aid of Surviving Christmas where everyone can place something under the tree that can be passed on to the Hastings based charity which supports vulnerable people whether on a low income, elderly or disabled, who are lonely or without facilities at Christmas.

Children will also have an opportunity to enter a ‘Spot the mouse’ competition when they have to find a mouse hidden in each of the trees. Everyone is welcome to come. Entry is free and £3 for the concert, including refreshments.
