The January market, last Saturday, defied the expectations of organisers with many people turning out to attend despite bad weather.

Sue Hargreaves, who is one of the organisers, said: “We had no idea the market would be so popular, We have people of all denominations and non-church members attending. It is a good place for people who live alone to go to as they have can meet people and have a coffee,”

The market takes place throughout the year on the morning of the first Saturday of the month and offers local and home-made produce as well as refreshments.
