City Quakersvigil to mark Holocaust Memorial Day

Brighton Quakers are holding a vigil on Sunday (January 27) to mark Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD).

The event takes place at the Brighton Friends’ Meeting House on Ship Street from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.

There will be an exhibition about the memorial day and the kinder transport.

All are welcome to the to bear witness to the holocausts around the world and to hope that it never happens again.

A spokesperson for the group said: “Along with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT), Brighton Quakers are encouraging remembrance in a world scarred by genocide.

“We promote and support Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) – the international day on 27 January to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, the millions of people killed under Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.”
