Classic cars on show

WITH its 20th anniversary fast approaching in 2012, The Rotary Club of Senlac presents the Senlac Classic Car Show at Bodiam on Sunday, June 19.

Organisers say this is set to be the biggest show ever, with more than 300 classic cars to view.

Previous years have seen an impressive array of musical and dancing entertainment.

This year the entertainment starts earlier at 11.30am, with the Old Star Morris Dancers, followed by the Lumpy and Lumpettes band and the Lindy Hoppers.

Music will be continuous with repeat performances, finishing at 4.10pm.

The top attraction this year will be the flyover of the world-famous Red Arrows on their way to Rye.

There will be plenty of opportunity for show goers to dance the afternoon away and to take of liquid refreshment with a choice of cuisine from many food outlets.

Charity and craft stalls will be in abundance.

And children are not to be forgotten - there will be a display of owls presented by falconry experts, together with children’s rides and go-carts.

A beer tasting bar will also be available for the grown-ups.

All proceeds this year will be distributed to Sara Lee Trust, The British Legion, the Sea Cadets and the Club’s Yellowmen of Kadongdong project (building and completion of a health clinic in Kenya).

The club’s policy is mainly to support local charities - £100,000 recorded to-date.

Parking is free and entrance is free for accompanied children. Adults’ entry £3 each.
