CLEANING IN THE RAIN
Scouts and a Cub also lent a hand to the proceeding and with their help the Luxford Field and car park, North Row down to Church Combe, part of Tower Ride starting from London Road, the High Street, Library Way, Civic Way and Bell Farm Lane got a good spring clean.

Hide AdOrganiser Ian Smith said: 'Sunday's clear-up afternoon was a virtual washout. It seems the Mucky Duck was out to wreak revenge.
'But never mind the weather this time, we must continue to run these working half-days. The community spirit is definitely there to be tapped.
'Mark Davis is in the process of setting up a website for the campaign. This will allow Uckfield folk to see what has been done, what is being done, and what could be done to make Uckfield a brighter place.'

Hide AdAdult volunteers made sure to stand out from the crowd and spread the word about the campaign by wearing new high-visibility vests with the Mucky Duck logo on the back and Brighter Uckfield Campaign on the front.
The campaign organisers are working on a number of other projects designed to enhance the town, including name plaques to attach to the town's river bridge, repair or replacement of the traffic island on the pedestrian crossing from Woolworths to HSBC and continuing efforts to tackle graffiti in the town.
