Family and friends attended the unveiling of a wooden seat at Climping Village Hall, which had been donated to the village by the Lions in memory of Les Nicholas, who died last year. Les had been with the Lions for 27 years.

A Lions spokesman said: “Les devoted much of his spare time to the cause of helping those in the community who were suffering poor health or who had fallen on hard times. He was admired by all who knew him for his calm and compassionate nature.”
