Co-op Wick staff free-fall for Mencap

THREE brave men will be free-falling from 10,000ft in a bid to raise more than £1,000 for charity.

Gary Woolven, 31, Karn Moore, 21, and Paul Robinson, 29, will all be taking the plunge on Father’s Day to raise money for Mencap, a charity which provides support for disabled people and their families.

The daring trio, who all work at the Co-op store, in Wick Street, Wick, have admitted they feel daunted by the task that lies ahead of them.

Store manager Gary said: “We’re all pretty nervous right now.

“We’ve done all the theme parks and roller coasters before, but nothing quite like this.

“Paul has never even been on a plane before. So it’s going to be a real challenge for all of us, I think.

“But Mencap is the Co-op’s chosen charity this year and we wanted to do something that would push us a little bit more.”

The trio’s tandem skydive will take place on Sunday, June 19, above Brackley Airfield, Northants.

Donations can be made at the store, either in collection tins or on sponsor forms.
