College talent on show

TALENTED students from Hailsham Community College raised some cash for Comic Relief last week by putting their skills on show before a panel of judges.

Eight acts made it through the heats held throughout last week and into the final on Friday, but there could only be one winner.

Acts included singing, dancing, piano playing, acting and magic tricks.

The winning act was headed by Rebecca Hossany, a singer who came second in the recent South East Search For A Star competition.

She was backed by dancers Rebecca Larkin, Jessie Shaw, Samara Tompsett, Kate Plass, Jo Cann and Vicky Smith.

In second place came singer and pianist duo Diane Roberts and Lucy Burgess, while third were Tony McLean, Ricky Oberheim and Ashley Gibbs who performed an hilarious comedy play of their own creation.

Students had to pay 20p to watch the heats of the competition, which were held from Monday to Thursday last week. Tickets for the final cost 50p.
