The collision happened in Leylands Road at just before 1pm. Police closed the road in both directions.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed a car had hit a telegraph pole.
He added: “We were called at 12.45pm. One ambulance attended. A patient who suffered minor injuries was checked over at the scene, but was discharged from our care.”
