As ever, they have proved both inspiring and humbling, and it will be no easy task for the judges who will commence their deliberations when nominations officially close at midnight on Monday (October 21).

However, it is not to late to put someone forward for an award - perhaps you know a Friend of the Environment who does more to be green, or maybe you are impressed by a public servant’s principled stand or commitment to their community.

There are 15 categories to choose from - see the nomination form on page 22 of this week’s paper, or request one by emailing [email protected], and reply by return.

Those shortlisted for awards will receive complimentary tickets to the ceremony at The Capitol on Tuesday November 19, as will their friends and family and those who nominated them.

The event, now in its fifth year, is always an emotional roller-coaster of fun, laughter, tears and joy - with always a few surprises thrown in amidst the prizes!

So help make a difference to someone you know - nominate your neighbour, friend, group or charity today, and be a part of the Community Awards 2013.

But don’t delay! There is little time left before nominations close on Monday.
