Concern for missing Henfield bike fixer

Police are concerned about the welfare of missing 57-year-old bike repairer from Henfield.

David Payne was last seen by his sister on Friday, July 15, but was not reported missing to police until Wednesday (July 20).

He is described as white, 5’9”, of medium to stocky build, clean shaven and with receding straight white hair.

He may be wearing a blue shirt bearing a BikeMend logo - reflecting his job as a bike repairer - together with dark blue combat-style trousers.

His silver Ford Fusion car had been located in the Eastbourne area but his yellow Nomad bicycle has not.

He is a keen cyclist and used to long-distance rides.

Missing persons co-ordinator PC Mark Green said: “Please contact us if you have any information about David which may help us find him and ensure he is okay.”
