Concerns overstolen life ring

The striped ring was taken from the wall of Ferry Cottage at Rock Channel.

Owner Margaret Houselander said: “It is more than 30 years old and the cork is rotted, It was ornamental.

“I am worried that if some kids have taken it they may try and use it in the water and it is not fit for purpose.”

Ferry Cottage, by the fishing quay, dates to 1780 and has been opened in the past by Mrs Houswlander to raise money for charity.
