Concert aims to hit high notes for school

A CHARITY concert is being held at West Grinstead Stud to fund a Horsham school's major theatre development.

The event on Saturday at 6.45pm will offer a mixture of blues, indie, rock 'n' roll and Latin music, including performances from Brighton-based blues band The Malchicks, The Wednesday Night Project, and Rusted.

The appeal in aid of the theatre at Queen Elizabeth II School was launched in January 2007 by West Grinstead mum Julie Bateman, whose six-year-old daughter Ella attends the school.

It has 54 pupils between the ages of two and 19, all of whom have severe learning difficulties and some of whom have profound or multiple learning difficulties.

The money will fund building state-of-the-art facilities for the theatrical productions for which the school has become well known.
